In 2003, Andrea became a Registered Nurse in the state of New York, continued her education until 2017 and became a NY Family Nurse Practitioner. In 2022, she moved to Vero Beach, Florida. She maintains both NY and FL licenses. In 2023. Andrea joined Indian Health Center’s Dr. Ryan Hess and Dr. Kay Lee with Functional Medicine. As a team, they work together to keep you up and moving as healthy as possible.
Andrea Machado heads up the Primary Care services and she typically is caring for patients through physical exams (for insurance, school, sports), DOT physicals (for CDL drivers), weight loss programs from injections to natural alternatives, Hormone Replacement Therapy, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, Functional Medicine, IV Therapy, sexual wellness, and other medical modalities.
A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse who has higher education and training in a particular area or field. Nurse practitioners have a master’s degree, also known as a MSN, as well as board certification in their specialty. A nurse practitioner can diagnose and treat medical conditions in addition to ordering, performing and interpreting medical tests. An NP also has full prescribing privileges.
